(1) Friday, October 26 screening & panel discussion of the film Why Not Home: the surprising birth choices of doctors and nurses. Stevenson Union, 1st Floor (Diversions), 6 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. Featuring midwife and OSU anthropology professor Melissa Cheyney.

Cost: $10 (suggested donation at the door)

(2) Saturday, October 27 first-ever Oregon screening of Symbiotic Earth: How Lynn Margulis rocked the boat and started a scientific revolution. Stevenson Union, Rogue River Room. Doors open at 6 P.M.; film begins promptly at 6:30 P.M.

Symbiotic Earth is a fascinating documentary film about a microbiologist whose work profoundly changed our understanding of the mechanisms of evolution and foreshadowed the current interest in the human biome.

Cost: Free with conference registration or $15 (suggested donation) at the door. If you plan to come, please register at EventBrite so we know how many to expect.
